I can definitely see the red or shadow (dark) areas on my photoįrom the ip4000 to consist of lines and dots of such color. I am not sure if it's the correct word to describe the problem but I returned the first ip4000, my second ip4000 still shows the banding problem. I think that this is why the dark shadows and red or magenta color on my proto are not smooth or uniform and that they are clearly made up of lines and dots. With the ip4000, one cannot fine-tune the nozzle (they don't give you the choice to choose which nozzle produces the most uniform color box that has no white lines or stripes in between). At least with the i850, during the nozzle check procedures, I can choose the box with no white stripes or lines (to make it uniform). The print head failed after 2 years and I was happy with the quality of the picture. My previous printer,Canon i850, had no such problem. I used Office Depot premium photo glossy paper and Canon inks. No profile or anything like that as I am a beginner. Settings are according to what are offered in the utility. I printed using the Easy Photo utility that came with the printer. I am not sure if it's the correct word to describe the problem but I can definitely see the red or shadow (dark) areas on my photo from the ip4000 to consist of lines and dots of such color.
